A trip to Chattanooga for the surprise birthday party weekend for my friend and former college roommate, Andy. Of course, his daughter, Karis, was the subject of plenty of photos!

Surprise!
I arrived in Chattanooga Wednesday night, a few hours after Andy and Lianne got in. Andy had absolutely no clue I was driving up and was completely surprised. I met up with them late Wednesday for a brief visit and to see Karis for the first time.

Incline Railway
The next morning, we took a trip to downtown Chattanooga for a little tourist time. Lianne and I rode the Incline Railway to the top of Lookout Mountain. Andy had ridden before, and Karis was due for a nap, so he drove to the top while Karis fell asleep.

We'd planned to spend some time in neighboring Point Park for a better view, but they've instigated a mandatory charge to enter. We weren't interested since we had only planned to glance around for maybe an hour, tops. So, instead, we went downtown where Andy and I watched the NASCAR 3D IMAX movie while Lianne and Karis enjoyed the free educational center next to the theater.

Friday wasn't too eventful, but Saturday afternoon, we had lunch at Cindy's apartment. Afterward, she brought out this cake for Andy.

Surprise, surprise, surprise
Andy's first surprise was to find out the destination of Lianne's surprise mini vacation. The second surprise was that I had driven up. The third, and last, surprise was to find that the offhand idea to have dinner Saturday night at Provino's was actually a well-planned event where many of our college friends showed up.

Sunday saw an afternoon/evening trip to Atlanta, culminating in a spin around the revolving bar at the top of the 73-story Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel.
