Canal connection
One of the man-made canals that were built to interconnect the lakes. Thanks to Tropical Storm Fay, the canals were very full, and we all had to duck when we passed under bridges. A few years ago, there were drought conditions and people could actually walk in the dry canals.

Leaning tree
A few decades ago, a storm caused a huge tree to partially uproot and lean over. It was braced and continues to grow today.

See what I did there? She's from Australia! Down under!? Yeah, well, there was no way we were going to be able to photograph any of the fish in the spring, so I photographed Nicki instead.

Underwater story
The keen-eyed viewer might realize this video was spliced where the camera comes up from the water. The underwater part was the only video I thought turned out decent, but I loved Nicki's giggle at the end of a different attempt.
