Black Point Wildlife Drive—Titusville, January 22, 2005
A trip with friends to the Black Point wildlife refuge in Titusville, plus some sunset shots taken along highway 50 on the return trip.
Disney Fort Wilderness Fun Day, April 9, 2005
A gorgeous early-April day at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground. Most of these pictures are of us playing volleyball, but some people just laid out, and we all just relaxed, talked, and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
The Search For a Townhome, Spring 2005
Transferring these pictures from my old albums to this Flickr set may be rather pointless, especially considering I not only found and purchased a townhome-style condo in mid-2005, but subsequently married and moved into an apartment in 2010, and then into a new home in 2011. But the hunt to finally end my 13 years of renting is a memory worth saving, so these photos remain.
My realtor kept returning to units at the Pheasant Run property in Rosemont, so I guess that was a sign. She showed me a few other locations, but none of them appealed to me, and/or they were too distant from where I worked.
Dinner at Friday's, May 29, 2005
The staff who organize an annual Wet 'n Wild private party always go for dinner after the event. Silliness always ensues due to hunger and exhaustion.
Fireworks In St. Louis, July 4, 2005
Not only did St. Louis put on a great show, I also got to watch it from a great venue—the roof of the Edward Jones Dome! This venue is the home of the St. Louis Rams but, over the holiday, it was home to the Adventist denomination's General Session.
St. Louis Gateway Arch, July 5, 2005
I should've guessed that the exterior of the Arch was more photogenic than images taken from the top. Nevertheless, after having previously driven through St. Louis twice without being able to stop, It was nice to finally be in the city long enough for a trip up.
Virtual Visibility, one year of moblogging, Sept. 2004-Sept. 2005
Before Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, Pinterest, ad nauseum, it was called moblogging. Before anyone had heard the word "smartphone," geeks were uploading low-resolution cell phone photos to their own web sites. Naturally, I wanted a piece of that action.
Before opening this Flickr account, using a kludge built by my friend Jeff, I posted photos from a Sony Ericsson T616 (my first cameraphone) through an e-mail gateway to a server Jeff operated at his home, and then into the self-hosted web album server at my home. This set contains all those T616 shots. The original album also had five shots from the Sony Ericsson S710a which were the first images I ever uploaded to this Flickr account. I've added them to this set as well. As well as a bonus shot of the S710a shooting into a mirror.
Wow, only 50 pictures in a year. Such a n00b.
GM AutoShow In Motion, November 6, 2005
Lots of fun test driving various GM vehicles, including a Hummer H2, Corvette Z06, and a Pontiac Solstice. Sadly, this event has been discontinued. gmtnation.com/content/gm-s-autoshow-motion-122/
Rosa's Birthday Party at Amura's, November 10, 2005
A small gathering of friends for celebration.
Party at Amy's, November 19, 2005
Dinner, movie, and fun for no specific reason—which is, of course, the best reason to have a party.
Tarpon Springs, November 26, 2005
Sunset shots at Howard Park beach and dinner at Hellas restaurant.
Disney World With Niece and Nephew, December 1, 2005
My brother and his then-wife came to Florida for a week from Washington State and brought Riley and Claire to Disney World for the first time.
Fair warning, this album is about my brother's kids and not so much the Disney park. 🙂
Christmas Party at Amy's, December 17, 2005
Dinner, gift exchange, and what-not. (And wow, upon moving this album from my self-hosted Gallery to Flickr, I noticed in the timestamps that we went on until past 4am! Ridiculous!)
Christmas, December 24-25, 2005
Much of this set of photos are of my family's December 24 activities of childplay, games, Build-Your-Own-Pizza, and luminaries, followed by Christmas Day gift opening and Santa visit.
Miscellaneous/random shots taken in 2005 which I did not include as part of any other set of photos.
