I appreciate this lawn worker
This worker was mowing the grass adjacent to where I had to stop for a red light. Normally, I fully expect to see people on lawnmowers start at the edges and go in circles towards the middle. This guy, however, instead mowed in parallel lines going forward one direction, and then backing up the next direction. In doing this, he kept the lawn clippings from blowing out into the road and plastering all over the sides of cars. Very thoughtful, in my opinion. I salute you, sir.

Uh oh—is this going to be a problem?
Lines appear on right side of 46" Samaung LCD TV (about 2" apart) for about 10 mins till it warns up. Sort of double lines on the left, and faint (best visible at the bottom). Reddish line on the right.

Pay attention to light sources when designing

My sandals miraculously survived a half-hour drive from home to work
I had an arm full of stuff to put in the van before leaving home this morning. In order to unlock and open the door, I set my sandals on top of the van to free one hand, and I forgot to grab them after I set the rest of the stuff inside. The fact they stayed put during my drive to work—part of which at full highway speeds—is nothing short of astounding!

Poor installation shortcut
I've put off posting this photo for a while because I've been trying to remember the name of a particular phenomenon. Did you ever walk up to a box fan, put your mouth just inches away, say "aaaahhhhhh," and listen to how weird it sounds due to the fan blades chopping up the sound waves? Well, in what I presume was done as a cheap shortcut, a technician choice to gang up electrical junction boxes and install speakers at the same spot as the ceiling fans. When the fans are running (which is pretty much all the time—this is Florida), they chop up the sound waves of the music, making it sound worse than a staticky, poorly tuned radio station. There *IS* a name for this phenomenon, but for the life of me I can't remember or look up what it is.
