My pal, Chris Turner , came to Florida on vacation. I was quite happy—just ahead of my busiest week of the year—to manage two days off to join him at the Disney parks.

Kid Station One gets a completely different perspective of going through the Disney parks when kids this age are in your group.

Who is Alex Trebek? The celebrity handprints in cement is common nowadays, but I liked Alex's extra touch.

Lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine-in—very cool venue 11213909353_1ecfef21b6_b
Lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine-in—very cool venue Inside was set up just like a drive-in movie theater with cars for tables! At the end of the meal, you're given your "Speeding Ticket" to pay for the meal!
Speeding Ticket No, not that kind of ticket. This is a receipt from the Sci-Fi Dine-In restaurant at Disney's MGM Studios. Yes, pricey meal, but it was *very* yummy, and the schtick of eating in mock-ups of cars arranged as though they were parked at a drive-in movie theatre watching cheesy sci-fi films was an extremely fun experience. I'd been meaning to place a picture of this on my Flickr page for a long time. It embarrasses me to realize almost a year has passed before I finally got around to doing it.
This is still one of my favorite parts of MGM Studios 11213803206_58a9d9ecdf_b

'Mater made an appearance It was really cool to see an actual, full-size truck drive out and park here. Looked exactly like the computer-generated character.

Segments of Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show (truncated—full version on YouTube) Oops. I forgot the 3:00 limit on Flickr videos. Here's the full-length version on YouTube .
Stunt show, revisited (truncated—full version on YouTube) In March 2009, I returned with a relatively new Nikon D90 and filmed all the action sequences again in HD. I'm posting this video here because, at the time, it was the most recent MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios) album in my collection. Same scenes as the previous smaller video, just higher resolution, widescreen, and more footage.
