Summer 2000 is when my office at last acquired a Nikon CoolPix 990 and began the transition from shooting film to shooting digital. Choosing this camera for my office was a direct result of having been loaned a CoolPix 950 (predecessor model) to use during the General Conference Session in Toronto. It would be three more years before I'd buy a digital camera of my own, and I was too paranoid to use the office camera for personal reasons. It came with me to D.C. because it was a trip for a convention (followed by some sightseeing at the Capitol area). But, by the end of the year, I felt more comfortable having it out and actually did take it on a personal trip.
