New Year's Party, January 1, 2004

Our celebration was nothing stupendous. Just friends—and the dog! The next day, we went to Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground to bike and rollerblade.

Ádamas performing at House of Blues, January 8, 2004

Ádamas took the Orlando House of Blues stage and totally rocked! Lots of fun, considering not only was this my first time at House of Blues, but I had clearance for photos when they're normally not permitted, plus had practically free roam of the entire venue—on, off, front, and back stage!
Birthday party for Melvin, January 8, 2004

Dinner after Ádamas' performance at House of Blues. After all these years, I realize these pictures were taken in the 1am hour of January 9. Surprised we found a TGI Friday's that was still open.
Shenanigans in Kissimmee & Disney Hotels, January 24-25, 2004

The gang takes yet another excursion to silliness, by way of a Peeping Tom glimpse of Splendid China, Disney's Fort Wilderness Lodge and Coronado Springs Resort, and an Amtrak ride to downtown Kissimmee for rollerblading and sightseeing.

This was an effort by Jeff and myself to get in one last trip to Rat Land before our seasonal passes expired. Props to Vergy's mother (a Disney employee) for hooking up her daughter, Rosa, and Melvin with tickets for that day to join me and Jeff. By the way, most of these pictures were from Jeff's camera, not mine. For some reason, he was more into the picture-taking than I was.
Puerto Rico, April 9-18, 2004

After years of attempting to pull it off, I and four of my friends—Rosa, Vergy, Melvin, and Jeff—finally managed to arrange a multi-day vacation that worked with all our schedules. Several different destinations had been on our minds, but Puerto Rico was the final candidate for our excursion.
Vergy's Graduation, May 8, 2004

Congrats to Vergy on her graduation at Rollins College. Unfortunately, Rosa and I arrived late, thus didn't get a seat in the main area and had to watch a video screen in the overflow area. The pictures of the service were taken from an upper level at great distance and didn't turn out spectacular. The remaining shots are outside the auditorium and at Olive Garden, following the service.
Dinner at Rosa's, May 16, 2004

Rosa did some beautiful decorations in her home for a group dinner, in celebration of Jeff's birthday.
Airboating and Congo River Golf, May 23, 2004
53 Photos
A trip toward Brevard county for an airboat tour, then back in town for Congo River Golf. This album contains a video and several photos I shot, plus many more photos shot by Rosa with Jeff's camera. Jeff wasn't with us this day, but he had loaned his camera to Rosa.
Dinner at Friday's, May 30, 2004

The staff who previously organized an annual Wet 'n Wild private party always went out for dinner after the event. Silliness always ensues due to hunger and exhaustion. Having Zach along this time had plenty to do with it, too.
Interesting Clouds, June 25, 2004
27 Photos
On my way to a high school classmates get-together, I noticed this storm and the odd clouds it was producing. Since my camera was sitting right next to me in the seat, I pulled over and started shooting.
FLA Class of 88 Get-together, June 25, 2004

In spite of the sad event that brought us all together—the funeral of classmate Stacey Mastrapa—it was good that many of us were able to gather at Lorraine's home to share some good times.

Didn't have a tripod, so lots of motion blur, but a few turned out pretty great.
Hurricane Charley Damage, August 13-15, 2004
157 Photos
This set begins with a few night shots around the apartment complex where I lived at the time and the nearby vicinity shortly after Charley passed over, followed by more shots of my complex and around Altamonte Springs, Winter Park, and Casselberry the morning after. Then, the latter half of this set contains photos by Mark Offenback (a friend of one of my coworkers) who went down to Punta Gorda over the weekend to help with a feeding station.
Post-Charley Sunset, August 15, 2004

Two nights after Hurricane Charley struck Orlando, I was at my office with my friend, Jeff, taking advantage of the A/C and internet connection since neither of us yet had power restored. Jeff noticed the sky outside and I snatched my camera, ran up to the roof of the building, and squeezed off a few shots.
Chattanooga/Andy's Birthday, August 18-23, 2004

A trip to Chattanooga for the surprise birthday party weekend for my friend and former college roommate, Andy. Of course, his daughter, Karis, was the subject of plenty of photos!

Shots from the 2004 annual Society of Adventist Communicators convention, held at Doubletree Inn at Campbell Centre in Dallas, Texas. The last few dozen photos were taken by colleague Richard Dower.
Sorry, I don't have captions for most of these. A few have been filled in from memory, nine years later! 🙂
Washington Trip, October 17-24, 2004
78 Photos
The last of an annual series of vacations to Washington State. (Pretty certain I haven't yet returned as of 2013.) This trip was primarily to see my newborn niece. The majority of this album, however, is photos from our excursion to Hurricane Ridge and to Cape Flattery. I had previously thought Cape Flattery was the westernmost point in the lower 48 states, but have since discovered the actual westernmost point is Cape Alava which just just a bit south of Cape Flattery. Alas, we never went to Cape Alava.
