“This DHS Band Shoutout goes to Flute player Meagan Glase! Meagan is a Sophomore this year, but shows skill beyond her years! She is hard working, attentive and talented. Meagan always listens to what her section leader has to say and is always respectful and receptive to any advice others have for her. She demonstrates poise, skill, humbleness and grace daily. Meagan is always giving out hugs to others and asking how you are feeling. She genuinely cares for others and actively listens to what they have to say. Her section leader says that Meagan has been a joy to work with and that she sees so much in store for her future! Thank you Meagan for your dedication and your character of Gold!”

In memory of Matthew Buth
Students at DHS came together today after the loss of one of our senior band members, Matt Buth. I never knew him personally, but he is a part of my band family, and we are all mourning his death—he took his life yesterday. 😢 I am amazed at the love and unity that this experience has brought to our campus. I was touched by the people who joined hands in the middle of campus during lunch to say a prayer for Matt's family. There were happy tears; I wish we could be a unified society like this all the time.

Today, I had the privilege to listen to the prophet, Russell M. Nelson, at the Follow the Prophet Florida Devotional. I enjoyed the prophet's spiritual advice; Elder Uchtdorf was a very close second.
It warmed my heart when President Russell M. Nelson asked the primary children to sing, "I Am a Child of God," with him. At least a hundred tiny voices came from around the stadium, singing the sweet lyrics.
The atmosphere was calming, and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to gather with fellow brothers and sisters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. #FollowTheProphetFL
