Very. Big. Bat.
On Thursday, Andy took me to the Louisville Slugger plant. This is a panorama shot of the replica bat outside the entrance.

Hank Aaron bat
A bat used by Henry "Hank" Aaron. I only took a shot of this one because Hank played with Félix Millán who is an Adventist living in Florida and with whom I am acquainted.

Babe Ruth bat
The sign reads: "Cleaned your closets lately? We all dream of finding treasures in our attic or at a yard sale. The bat in this case was tucked away in a closet and forgotten for years. It was recently discovered to be a very rare and valuable Babe Ruth bat, game used and autographed by the Sultan of Swat. The date Ruth wrote on the bat—September 29, 1934—is the same day he hit his last home run as a New York Yankee. The owner of the bat plans to sell it someday to finance college for her children."

Another Babe Ruth bat
Another Babe Ruth bat. A sign below reads: "This is one of only three Babe Ruth bats, known to be in existence, that contain notches carved around the center oval trademark brand that signify home runs. Just like a gunslinger in the Old West, "The Bambino" carved 21 notches into this bat, noting the 21 home runs he hit with it before it cracked.…

Detail of second Babe Ruth bat
…This 35-inch, 38.7 ounce model R43 bat was used in 1927, the year that Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs, drove in 164 runs, and batted .356 to lead the New York Yankees to a sweep of the '27 World Series. Though heavy by modern professional baseball standards, the model R43 (which represents the specific shape of the bat) is still one of the ten most popular bat models used by major league players today. The Ruth legacy lives on!"

90+ MPH pitch
This video is of the pitching demonstration in the museum where you can experience being in the line of fire of a 90+ MPH pitch.

Saltpetre mine
On Friday, Andy, Karis, and I visited Mammoth Cave's Historical Tour. This picture shows remnants of the saltpetre mine.
