Hidden leprechauns
There are several leprechauns hidden throughout the museum's dioramas. I only found one. Can you see it? I used to have a link to a web page with lots more information. The page is gone, but web.archive.org/web/20131127114620/http://redyak.com/phot....
This photo is a victim of unfortunate composition—cover your eyes, children

Not sure any angle makes the composition any better
I think the designers of this diorama had an ulterior motive.
Diorama moose
One thing's for sure—although the backgrounds were obviously painted when viewed in real life, and the wildlife was visibly fake, it all looks a lot more realistic in photos.
Diorama wolves—probably my favorite of all the scenes

Dinosaur exhibit
Another section of the museum featured dinosaurs. This one had such an enormously long tail, there was nowhere I could stand distant enough to take a complete photo.

Some sightseeing before the flight home
Way back in July, I booked a 5pm flight home with an incorrect assumption that there'd be Sunday programming to close out the convention. Upon realizing my error, I was facing nearly a full day of sitting in the hotel and/or airport. Blessfully, a communication colleague had planned a few hours to sightsee in the Rocky Mountain National Forest and invited me to come along. His flight was at 3pm, so I knew that even if he was a smidge late, I'd still be on time.

Thick fog descends
We eventually drove through this fog and got high enough in altitude to get above the fog and see mountains in the clear skies.

This would probably be a fabulous hotel to stay in. I bet it has awesome views form just about every window.
