Found my old college-era box of VHS cassette repair parts
This was one of the job skills I learned at Andrews which continued to come in handy the first few years where I work now. I have literally salvaged dozens of VHS tapes people would have otherwise thrown away and spent lots of money replacing.
Probably headed to Goodwill unless someone speaks up soon
Collection of hilarious outdoor sporting tales by Patrick McManus.

It was a beautiful New Year's Day at Daytona Beach
Somehow I don't envision a mad rush of thirsty customers in a Lowe's store to need SIX fountains
Not quite finished at this point, but I've been having lots of fun re-living my 1997 RV trip through New England with my parents by finding the geolocation for as many photos as possible. Some need fine tuning. Some I'll probably never find. And I absolutely astounded myself by having found a few obscure spots almost by accident. Next time I'm sitting down with my dad, I'll see how many he might can find.
Sitting in parking lot, waiting for wife, and suddenly this walks by
36 years after first grade
(From right to left) My wife and I met up with my former Tampa classmates, Monica, Rick, and Evelyn, for supper at Lime Mexican Grill.

Woohoo, tile acquired! Master bath renovation begins March 25!
Creepy full moon glaring through my living room window
Not bad at all—nom nom nom
Found this guy in front of my house, about the diameter of my thumb
I think it's a red rat snake and not poisonous, although this fella did curl up and attempt a puny strike at me when I disturbed him.
Use of the word "type" in this context (potato chip ingredients) is somewhat disconcerting

I shot the picture on the right with my iPhone. Totally didn't realize my wife was in the shot (bottom right) clicking her camera at the exact same moment (left)!
Tedious work—inputting survey cards into Excel
The reason the phrase, "Pics or it didn't happen" was invented
I swear, if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I don't think I would have believed it.
Friday evening fun.

What's the simplest, least destructive way to remove wire closet shelf braces?
Ikea Pax closet system
LOVE my parents! Came to visit today and dad helped put this together. Definitely not a one-person job.
Pardon the wonky appearance of this photo. It's two photos, each half of the closet. The curved appearance is due to the panorama shot required to image the full 95" height.
Lori is ecstatic at the prospect of closet organization at last!

Today, I relinquished one of my few remaining grips on youth
Sure, they're only for reading/computer work, but I never before thought I would need them.
I know iOS 6 allowed developers to change the status bar color, but I didn't know the font could also be changed
Google Earth Horizon
No purpose to this photo other than having to make it public on my photostream in order to set it as a Flickr Cover Photo.

That's that; no more plastic clip cases for me ever—they ALWAYS break
This is a Mophie case. The iSkin belt case for iPhone 4/4S had the same problem. I'll never understand why iSkin abandoned the slide-in style they used for the 3G/3GS.

A recent Twitter exchange
Fascinated at the similar subject matter in the same city, but eight years apart.
If you're not going to properly use your Twitter account, please just delete it
It is ludicrous to set up a Twitter account and just use it for descriptionless linkdumps from your Facebook page. Pro tip: if you don't care to compose a tweet that fits Twitter's character limit, you don't belong on Twitter. (And no, I'm not ragging on just the feed depicted in this screenshot. I see this often from many accounts. Especially news media services.)

Yikes! Haven't seen 100° on the thermometer in a long time
Oops—car plowed into my neighborhood's entry sign
Considering the distance from the curb to the sign and the significant damage to the car, the driver must've been doing a LOT higher than the posted residential 35 MPH.
Rather surreal seeing the old AHS building coming down
Sharing a childhood favorite with Lori's girls
Tried a new restaurant today—Italio
The verdict? Not amazing, yet not disappointing either. Better ingredients than Fazoli's but with a limited menu. Think Chipotle but with an Italian spin. Pasta was fresh but entree meats (or veggie option) didn't seem as fresh—as if they had been in hold a bit longer than they should've been. Not very hot. Maybe the fact I came in after 1:00pm was to blame. I'm sure I'll visit again, especially if one gets built in Altamonte near where my office will be moving.

A mishap I'm not going to elaborate on here prevented me from ordering right when the 5s went on sale, so I wonder if I missed an opportunity to receive the phone any sooner. But this order—if time frame is honored—is most acceptable. Wife will get her 5c first (which is important because her iPhone 4 is ailing).
